The annual report offers insights into high-impact innovations for improving the teaching and learning experience through the use of technology
LAKE MARY, Florida, 1 December 2022 — Using technology to help educators do their jobs and leveraging it to help them improve experiences and outcomes for learners was the goal for most of 1EdTech's 2022 Learning Impact Award finalists. All 34 evidence-based technology projects that advanced to the final round of competition are included in today's 2022 Learning Impact Report release.
1EdTech™ Consortium, the leading non-profit educational technology partnership worldwide, holds the annual awards program to recognize the breakthrough digital learning technology and strategies implemented for K-20 education and workforce training that enable educational opportunity and empower tomorrow's learners.
Among the 2022 project submissions were trends toward integrating and scaling digital resources not only for practical reasons but to lift burdens from overworked and stressed educators while also improving collaboration and connection online and in and out of the classroom.
The projects show the evolution to an open and more equitable digital ecosystem addressing the needs of educators and learners. While some proposals highlighted innovations in curriculum delivery, including artificial intelligence, gaming, and virtual reality, to help engage and respond to learner needs, others streamline how educators access the best tools for their learners' needs. Then, there are tools to evaluate learning in real-time and others to give decision-makers the usage data they need to ensure the tools actually impact learning.
There is also significant progress in the digital credentials space with innovators looking to provide value-added information to verifiable credentials, so learners can more easily share their skills in a meaningful way with employers.
"This is what the 1EdTech community and the work we lead is all about—using technology to improve learning for all stakeholders at every level," said Dr. Rob Abel, 1EdTech CEO. "Now we can take these examples and find ways to advance them across the ecosystem."
The annual Learning Impact Awards competition is open to all educational institutions, states, edtech suppliers, and workplace training organizations worldwide. The 2023 Learning Impact Awards nomination period opens on January 30th and closes on February 28th.
1EdTech will announce the winners at its annual Learning Impact Conference, scheduled for June 5-8, 2023, in Anaheim, California.
