Alternative Credentials Get Digital: Boosting Impact for Learners & Institutions

Higher education institutions are now offering alternative credential programs to acknowledge a wider range of valuable skills and knowledge. While these programs provide great learning opportunities, it's important to have strong verification and portability to maximize their impact. This session will explore how connecting alternative credentials to digital credentials such as open badges and comprehensive learner records (CLRs) can benefit both institutions and learners.

Delivering Comprehensive and Meaningful Credentials through Standards and Credential Wallet Partnerships

A conversation about how and why institutions should use LER standards like CLR to map and deliver student records for students in quantifiable and verifiable formats. We will dive into CLRs and related standards, provide an example of how they've been implemented at the University of Phoenix, and demonstrate how and why they can be adopted in a Talent Passport by individuals and presented to employers.
